Preventive Maintenance
Avoid major problems and unexpected surprises with a preventive maintenance service available to our customers. We will inspect your garage door and automatic opener for worn or damaged parts and also for proper door operation, including a safety inspection. We will lubricate parts as needed and make sure everything is working as smoothly as possible for you and up to code.
Fire Door Testing
K.J. Door Services, Inc. offers a Rolling Steel Fire Door Drop Test Program using certified fire door technicians to ensure building owners and property managers stay in compliance with NFPA 80 standards. A drop test must be performed after a new fire door installation or commercial door repair, and done annually thereafter to ensure that the door will drop in a fire situation. This test includes a visual inspection of the door, an operational check of the door, and two drop tests (one to ensure proper closing of the door and one to ensure a proper reset of linkage). The customer will receive an official test form stating whether the door passed or failed. If the door passes, you will receive a label with the date and signature. If the door fails, we can provide a quote for the needed repair.
Why Fire Door Testing?
NFPA 80 sets the national standards for the installation and maintenance of assemblies and devices used to protect openings in walls, floors, and ceilings to prevent or retard the spread of fire and smoke within, into, or out of buildings. NFPA 80 states periodic inspections and testing shall be performed not less than annually.
